Valeant's Science Chief Leaving in June

COSTA MESA, Calif. — Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, which makes anti-viral drugs such as Virazole for the treatment of herpes, flu and chicken pox, said Tuesday its chief scientific officer, Dr. Kim D. Lamon, will leave the company June 30.
Before leaving, Lamon, who is also president of research and development at Valeant, will help complete late-stage testing of Viramidine, a Hepatitis C treatment.
Lamon joined Valeant in 2002 as a member of its board and assumed his current position in 2003. He will remain a member of the company's scientific advisory board.
Shares of Valeant closed down 11 cents at $17.47 on the New York Stock Exchange.
